Reflecting Damage and Skills

Despite of those kinds of damages I showed you before at the Physical and Magical Attacks topic, there is the possibility of reflecting back to the opponent his own physical damage, and negative effect skills either, such as stuns, curses and debuffs. What's not possible to reflect is physical damage from arrows, physical damage from long range skills and magical damage skills.

Reflecting Damage

Since the arrow's damage is excluded, only hand-to-hand physical damage can be reflected, but a player can't do it inside the olympiad unless he has a epic jewel necklace or some of the specific abilities that makes it available to reflect normal physical damage, physical skills damage or negative effect skills, and they are very separated, so let's see about them one by one.

Epic Necklace Jewels

Starting by the one that can work for all classes, both the Necklace of Valakas and Frintezza's Necklace gives 10% of the reflecting normal physical damage ability (doesn't work for skills), and it's a passive skill, so the player needs only to equip the jewel and it will work. On some java servers this percentage is being 5%, because they get the game archives from a High Five version reduced to the Interlude version, where this value has been changed to 5%.

Buffs For Reflect Damage

There are a few classes that has their own reflect damage buffs, which are: Song of Vengeance (Sword Muse), Chant of Revenge (Doomcryer), Freezing Skin (Mystic Muse) and Blazing Skin (Archmage). All of them gives 20% of the reflecting normal physical damage ability (doesn't work for skills), and you can use only one of them, except by the Song of Vengeance, which can be combined with one of the other three, despite of in some java servers he also gets replaced by the other ones, allowing the usage of only one of these four buffs.

Item Skills: Reflect Damage

These two item skills are unlike the four buffs above, they can be combined with them and also between their own bonuses, if the server allows to use active augments added to the passive ones. I can't tell you the exact value of them because it changes a lot according to the server, but usually it's something about 10% to 15% for each one, and on servers with active augments stuck on the weapon, the active one increases a little more.

Nightmare Heavy Set

Despite of bonuses for using the complete set, heavy clothing sets can give one more aditional bonus when equipping their respective shield, and in the case of the Nightmare Heavy Set, when using it's shield (Shield of Nightmare), it gives you 5% of the reflecting normal physical damage ability (doesn't work for skills). This is more helpful for specific classes and when the olympiad is limited on A Grade equipment.

Kai, The Cat

This is a pet that can be summonned by a Arcana Lord to fight by his side, and despite of having a lower physical attack than the Feline King, he has a self buff called Self-Damage Shield, which has the ability of reflecting 20% of the normal physical damage back to the opponent (doesn't work on skills), so he could be used eventually for a different strategy.

Reflecting Skills

About the abilities that allows to reflect physical skills damage and negative skills back, they are restricted to a few classes by using some self buffs or a toggle skill called Riposte Stance. Since they are very specific, let's see better about them one by one down below.

Physical Mirror

This is a self buff used by the classes Phoenix Knight and Hell Knight, which allows them to reflect back to the opponent physical negative skills, with a 30% reflecting rate, such as stuns, physical slows and holds. It can be used only with a shield, and it doesn't reflect back any kind of damage.

Magical Mirror

Just the same as the Physical Mirror, but it works only against magical negative skills instead, such as surrenders, curses, debuffs, magical slows and holds, with a 30% reflecting rate. This self buff is used by the Eva's Templar and Shillien's Templar, can be used only with a shield, and doesn't reflect back any kind of damage.

Counterattack

This is a self buff available only for the Ghost Hunter class, which allows them to reflect back to the opponent part of the damage from short ranged physical skills, but it lasts only 10 seconds and has a big reuse delay, so inside the olympiad they can use it only once by match usually. I can't tell you the exact value of the damage reflection, since I don't play with this class very often, but it's something about 45%.

Shield of Revenge

Another self buff, but this one is specific for the Hell Knight class, and it's function is pretty much the same as the Counterattack we've talked about above, except that it lasts 5 minutes instead. The damage reflection is the same, something about 45%, and it works only against damage of short ranged physical skills, not working against normal physical damage on the Interlude.

Riposte Stance

This is the most powerfull skill for reflection, because it works for the three kinds of reflection at the same time with a 30% reflecting rate, including normal physical damage reflection. The bad point is that to keep it activated, it consumes a lot of MP, reduces 20% of attack speed, 10% of movement speed and 4 accuracy points, which is a lot inside the olympiad, so it can't be kept activated for too long. This skill can be used only by four classes, which are the Duelists, Grand Khavataris, Maestros and Fortune Seekers.
