Wearing Clothing Sets Correctly
Like I said in another topic, wearing the right clothing set is the most important thing at the olympiad, and in many cases you can change it very fast just to get a bonus for a short time, since it really makes a big difference. Watch in the following video how much and how fast I switch my clothing set according to the situation:
In the video, you can see that in the beginning I was wearing the Dark Crystal Robe set for a faster magical skills casting, and when she summons her unicorn again, I quickly change to the Tallum Heavy Set (for better attack speed) and a knife to kill her pet again, then I change to the bow because she was still in the arrow's range when the unicorn dies, but when the second pet dies I change quickly for the Dark Crystal Robe set and magical skills because she was going farther than the arrow's range.
This example was at the Doomcryer class, but you can use this strategy within all classes, watch now a video with this applied at the Dreadnought class, pay attention to my cothing set changes:
I started this fight with the Tallum Robe Set for a higher M. Def. and a MP Boost, because Dominators usually start doing magical damage, and then when he tries to make physical damage with arrows (because P. Def. on robe sets are very low) I changed very quickly to Tallum Heavy Set and Imperial Crusader Heavy Set after, because he kept shooting arrows. Once he goes back to magical damage on Steal Essence I switch to Tallum Heavy Set again to keep a good damage, because IC Set has a -2 DEX penalty, so it reduces attack speed and a little bit of speed too.
When my HP was about 30%, I changed to the IC Set again just to use Battle Roar, because it gives a HP boost (having more HP while using Battle Roar means it will restore more since it's recovery is based on a percentage from the maximum HP) and went back to Tallum Heavy Set. After this I switch to IC Set again for the same reason to use Ritual (recovers your HP completely but can only be used when your current HP is on 10%), but because Swifty kept shooting arrows I stayed with IC Set because it gives the higher P. Def possible.
How To Switch Clothing Sets Fast?
To change your clothing sets quickly, we need to use a indispensable resource on Lineage 2 called macros, without them it would be a lot harder and slower to change your clothes piece by piece. I made a complete topic about it that you might have read already, check it in the link bellow:
There are some interfaces for the game (custom archives) that allows you to equip clothing sets only by clicking at the chest piece, but sometimes it doesn't work correctly and you might end up needing to create a macro, so it's better to learn how to create them anyway.
How To Choose The Right One?
To choose the right clothing set, you must understand a little bit about the class that you are playing and the one that you will be going to play against, because we hardly play with only one clothing set, it changes according to the situation. For example an Eva's Saint wears all the time robe clothing sets, but against fighters they need a Major Arcana Set, while against some mages they need a Tallum or Dark Crystal Robe Set.
The reason is because Major Arcana Set has more P. Def. than any other robe clothing set, so it's used against fighters to take a lower damage, while Tallum Robe Set gives an increase on M. Def. and casting speed. Dark Crystal Robe Set also gives an increase on casting speed, but it gives more P. Def. than Tallum Robe Set instead of M. Def.
About tankers, such as a Eva's Templar, they usually wear the Imperial Crusader Set for a bigger Physical Defense against other fighters, while against mages they wear a Tallum Heavy or a Tallum Robe Set, so you must analyze the situation to understand which is the right set for that fight or moment. Specific Situations
There are many moments that you can switch your clothing set fast just to get advantage of a clothing set bonus for a short period, and to do it you must practise your mind to identify the right time to use this strategy without going bad, because there's a risk of you staying without any clothes if you click twice on the macro, which might cause your defeat. I already showed you some examples at the other videos, but let's see one more from the Dreadnought class.
At the start I was wearing the Major Arcana Robe Set for the +7 speed bonus that it gives, so it allows me to get faster to my opponent while he was casting the summoning skill, then I change to the Tallum Heavy Set for a higher attack speed, so my physical skills would reach him faster and also come back faster. Not being successful on cancelling his summoning casting with a Shock Stomp, Thunder Storm or Earthquake, I changed to the Imperial Crusader Set, using Ritual and coming back to handle his cat again.
Right after defeating his cat, I quickly switch to the Tallum Heavy Set to send a Shock Blast and use War Cry faster. After War Cry I switch to the Major Arcana Robe Set to catch him up, and when I reach him, I switch again to the Tallum Heavy Set to use the final Earthquake as fast as I can, otherwise he could have had time to finish the summon magic for another cat.
I will leave a list below about the best clothing sets to increase each basic status, but you must study very well their use, because if you use it wrong it might be worse than better. To use it correctly you must practise your mind to remember about them and their attributes, because you need to think and change it in seconds for it to be efficient.
