Olympiad System
As important as knowing how to play, is understanding how the olympiad system works, this way you can become a hero easier if you understand the right time to join and when you need to avoid the fighting.
Rules To Join The Olympiads
First of all, only noblesse characters can join the olympiad, and to become a noblesse you must have completed the quest Possessor of A Precious Soul that is divided in four parts, I will leave the link for a guide right here to make it easy for you, you can translate it to your language with the Google Chrome (right click from the mouse on the page and translate option).
Some servers might have a simplified quest, some choose to let the noblesse status easy by only giving the last hit on the Flame of Splendor Barakiel Raid Boss, and some of them sell it on a GM Shop, you need to get informed about this on the server website.
To be able to join the olympiad you need to be on your based class, you can't join it on a subclass, so choose your main class carefully when creating your character for the olympiad. Also your inventory can't have more than 80% of it's capacity, otherwise the Grand Olympiad Manager won't let you register.
If you make a trade with someone or pick up anything that will exceed this inventory limit during the waiting time, you will lose 33% from your points to the Grand Olympiad Manager when you get called. The same penality is applied if you get disconnected after the message that you're going inside the arena appears, and on both cases your opponent doesn't get any points, because the match gets cancelled in the olympiad system.
Olympiad Modalities
You must know that there are two olympiad modalities, where on the first one you fight against all the possible classes, and on the other you fight only against your base class. Currently almost all servers have the base class fights disabled because many players would use it to give points from bot characters to their main, which is not the olympiad goal.
The base class modality worked in the official game server because it wasn't easy to do a subclass and noblesse quest there, so people couldn't use bots to get free points, but nowdays with the high rates from private servers and easier ways to get a noblesse status it's not a good option to let this modality available.
Registering For The Olympiad Games
The olympiad games usually occurs during the night considering the game server time, from 6 pm untill midnight, and the registration period get's closed 10 minutes before the midnight, but this olympiad period might be changed by the administration. To join the olympiad games, you need to talk to a Grand Olympiad Manager and select the second option "I want to participate in the Grand Olympiad", which will open another chat box:
To complete your registration, you must select the option "I want to join the games without a class distinction" and confirm, after this you are on the waiting list for a match and to be called for one of the arenas, where the fighting happens. The arena's quantity changes a little depending on the server, but usually there are between 20 and 24 arenas.
Waiting List
For the games to happen, there is a minimum of players that must be registered in the waiting list so that the olympiad system can choose the matches, usually this value is 5, where 4 players are called to play and 1 is left to wait for the next combination if there aren't more players. One player is always left behind if the registered number of players is odd, but if the numbers is even everyone gets called for a match.
The matches combinations are usually made each 30 or 60 seconds if there is the miminum number of participants, but this time and also the minimum number of participants might be changed by the server administration according to what they think is best for their server.
You can see how many players there is registered by going on the same second option for registering, and them choose the option "How many are on the waiting list", where the number for the all classes games is listed after General, and the other number reffers to the base class games. Most servers now prefers to remove this option, this way it gets harder to give points from bots to the main characters, what we olympiad players call "making feed".
Olympiad Matches
Something very important too is the olympiad matches combinations, there is a certain aleatority in it, but there are a few more factors that influences the matches combinations, like your win rate and your corrent points. I don't know exactly how much it impacts on the system's opponent choice, but the fact is that two players with similar points or win rates have a bigger chance to face each other inside the arena.
For example, if you have 146 points and there are 4 other players registered with the following points: 125 points, 45 points, 60 points and 72 points. The bigger chances are that you will face the player with 125 points, while the one with 60 goes against the other with 72 and the other with 45 points gets left for the next combination round.
The same thing happens with the win rate, but the amount of points has a bigger weight in this equasion. I believe this was created for the stronger players to fight themselves with a higher frequency, but I have seen some olympiads where this system has been changed, so it might be different where you play.
Olympiad Arena
The Olympiad Arena, or Olympiad Stadium as it is written in the map, is a destructed copy from the Coliseum, built in the middle of the ocean, near the Primeval Isle, and the only way to access it despite going to the olympiad games is using a Wywern dragon. The fighting happens only inside the white bars from the octangle, and there is no way out during the fight.
Many matches may happen at the same time, but you won't see other players during your own match except by your opponent. There is only one stadium, but it's like there is one stadium for each match for the olympiad system.
Points System
In the official points system, you start with 18 points and you can play only until you have 5 points left, if you reach 5 points them you can't register anymore at the olympiad before the current period finishes and resets the points from everyone. When the olympiad period is monthly, each player that makes at least one match gets +3 points every week, usually on the fridays midnight, to give a new chance to the players who went down to 5 points.
About the points per matches, every match worths 20% points from the player who has the lesser amount of points, for example: a player with 120 points fights a player with 38 points, so the match will be worth 7 points only. Now if the same player with 120 points fights a player with 86 points, this match will be worth 17 points, and if he fights a player with 155 points, the match will be worth 24 points, because he will be the one with lesser points.
Pay attention that there's no roudings at these values, for example a match where the player with lesser points has 88, 20% from it would be 17.6, but in this case the match will be worth 17 points only and not 18, it would be 18 only if he had 90 until 94 points. In the official configuration there's no limits of how much a match can be worth, but some private servers like to add a limit to make the olympiad points more balanced between all players.
