Jewels are very important against mage classes, because they are pretty much your magical defense itself, however, there are not many choices of them. We get two sets of A Grade jewels, one S Grade, and the epic jewels from epic raid bosses, which are the most difficult to get.
Besides the magical defense, the normal A and S grade jewels increases a little bit of maximum MP, being +117 MP for the Masjestic and +146 for the Tateossian set. For olympiad you must use the Majestic set if the server is still just A Grade and the S Grade Tateossian set if you don't have any raid boss epic jewel.
MAjestic Jewels

They might be dropped of a few mobs or raid bosses, and can also be crafted if you get all the enough materials and resources, but in all cases they come sealed, giving less Magical Defense, so you will need Ancient Adena to remove their seal and get the full status.
Tateossian Jewels

Just like the Majestic jewels, they might be dropped too, but only of raid bosses, so sometimes it's easier crafting them, although their recipe can only be obtained with quests, being a little boring. If you manage to craft them, they will be created with a seal too, giving less Magical Defense, so you will need more Ancient Adena to remove their seal and get the full status.
Epic Raid Bosses Jewels

These are jewels that can be obtained only of their specific epic raid boss, and their status are higher than all of the others jewels, giving the same Magical Defense as the Tateossian set, even if some of them are B or A Grade.
There are eight jewels of eight different epic raid bosses, and these raid bosses are too strong for you to defeat them alone, so mostly it's needed at least two parties to kill them. They drop only one jewel, unsealed, when they drop it, because officially Core, Orfen and Queen Ant have 30% chance of dropping the jewel, but some servers may increase the chance to 100% these days.
A few servers may put them in a GM Shop if it's a PvP server, so don't forget to check it. The lower grade ones must be enchanted with their specific enchant scroll, so the Ring of Queen Ant must be enchanted with Scroll Enchant Armors B Grade, while Ring of Core, Earring of Orfen and Frintezza's Necklace with Scroll Enchant Armors A Grade.
